CSO Meeting on National Climate Change Bill

On March 15, 2024, FIAN Zambia, in partnership with the Zambia Climate Change Network (ZCCN), co-organised a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Meeting focused on the review and analysis of the National Climate Change Bill. This activity formed part of the ongoing project titled “Stronger Together: Supporting Civil Society to Advance the Right to Food

For All, which aims to strengthen civic engagement in policy processes that affect food systems and climate justice in Zambia.

The collective feedback and recommendations developed during the meeting were compiled and submitted to relevant authorities, with the National Climate Change Bill officially submitted to Parliament on March 28, 2024. The government acknowledged and incorporated several recommendations from civil society, demonstrating the value of inclusive and participatory legislative processes in shaping climate policy that is both responsive and equitable
