Inception Meeting: Supporting a Just Energy Transition in Mineral Resource Areas

On 15–16 October 2024, FIAN Zambia hosted an inception meeting in Lusaka to launch the two-year project titled “Supporting a Just Energy Transition Centered on Protection and Promotion of Human Rights for Communities Living in Mineral Resource Areas of Zambia,” with support from the Southern Africa Trust. The project targets Chililabombwe, Sinazongwe, and Siavonga, aiming to promote human rights, sustainable mining practices, and community empowerment in resource-rich areas.
